The architects at DMFK And Norm Architects had an ambitious vision for an inspiring contemporary workplace environment in London. Their goal was to create high-end, modern, and lettable office spaces that would appeal to tenants seeking a functional and calming work setting with modern amenities.
The project was extensive and multifaceted. It involved the installation of over 10,000 m² of new acoustic partition walls to create functional spaces that allowed tenants to focus in a busy environment. In addition to the partition walls, Pace Interiors installed over 12,500 m² of various ceiling types, adding to the modern aesthetic and functionality of the office spaces. This project also included the incorporation of more than 600 door sets, which were manufactured from oak and finished with stainless steel reveals, matching the design style and finishes used throughout the building to create a cohesive space. These reveals were designed to form elegant shadow gaps, perfectly aligning with the architects' sophisticated vision.
Given the historic nature of the old Silver Vaults building, which dates back to 1885, the design and construction process presented unique challenges. The complexity of remodelling such an old structure required meticulous planning and execution. Coordinating the efforts of over 100 of our own staff, along with numerous other trades, logistics personnel, and management teams, was essential to ensure the smooth installation and timely completion of the project. Effective communication and precise scheduling were key to overcoming the logistical challenges and keeping the project on track. The result is a blend of historic charm and contemporary design, creating an inspiring workspace that meets modern needs while honouring the building's storied past.

Across the construction industry, there is a need for skilled workers who have the qualifications and experience to help carry the business through those tougher projects and busier periods. A theme that can be seen across construction in the UK is the shortage of labourers and skilled workers.
