One Bartholomew Close
Bespoke joinery for the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
The project

The University of Chicago is an iconic institution with a long history of prestigious alumni. Future business leaders and tomorrow’s titans of industry attend the University’s Booth School of Business in London to experience outstanding teaching and world-class opportunities.

One Bartholomew Close had to ooze quality and refinement, reflecting the learning experience that is delivered to students. Fully bespoke joinery with extreme attention to detail was required to turn the vision of an upscale, distinguished study environment into a reality.

The work

Starting with a ten-week intensive design period, we devised plans for over 60 individual pieces of specialist bespoke joinery. From one of a kind curved lecture desks to double-sided plaques for a dramatic feature wall – all with high material specifications – the challenge was creating pieces that aligned with the architect’s vision while remaining within budgetary constraints.

As with all projects, but of particular importance here, we manufactured and pre-assembled the joinery items in our custom built workshop prior to shipping to ensure a perfect finish. The pieces were then carefully transported to the building and installed by our master craftsmen.
