Architects MoraySmith had an ambitious vision of an inspiring contemporary workplace for McKinsey & Company’s new office building in London. Their aim was to create a space that would encourage collaboration amongst employees and allow the company to serve their clients with greater flexibility.
Pace Interiors were brought on board to design and construct dramatic feature walls for the main lobby that give the impression of being suspended in air.
Walls that appear to defy gravity were a significant design challenge. However, thanks to our past experience working on similarly ambitious projects we were able to solve a problem no one else could. We devised a beautifully simple solution combining timber and metal studs to construct the “floating” walls.
Design challenges were only one element of this complex project. With over 100 of our own staff involved along with those from other trades, logistics and management were key to coordinate installation and keep the programme running to time.
We partner with those that expect high-end finishes as standard. Those that look to us for answers when a project is challenging. Those that need a partner to deliver solutions that will work without hassle.
